The main rental steps
Rental offer
The process usually begins with a signed rental offer identifying the tenant, the chosen property, the financial conditions, and the main terms later reflected in the lease.
Landlord approval
Once the landlord or representative accepts and countersigns the offer, the parties are generally bound by its terms, subject to agreed conditions.
Lease signature
The lease is drafted, signed by both parties, and registered with the tax authorities. It may support a residence application with the Surete Publique.
Insurance and utilities
Before move-in, the tenant usually provides a multi-risk home insurance certificate and sets up electricity, water, telephone, and internet subscriptions.
Move-in and inventory
An inventory of fixtures records the condition of the property and protects both parties at the end of the lease.
Ongoing support
